"The Story"

Phil has encouraged me to do this and it will probably be the only place I write it down-and since she is taking a nap I guess I should take advantage. Although she sometimes seems to think night time is party time so maybe I should wait till then since I am up anyways right?
I almost think Phil should write it-he knows more about the labor story than me...but here we go anyways.

Thursday the 17 of June when I was 38 weeks and 5 days pregnant I had my weekly Dr. Appt. at 1:15 (3 weeks prior I found out I was at a 1 and 75% effaced). Well when the doc came in my room he couldnt believe I was still pregnant-he thought I would of had the baby by now. Yeah and so did I, well I was hoping at least. He thought he stripped my membranes the week before but I reminded him that I asked him to and he said no because I tested positive for Strep B. HE asked how I felt about having the baby soon and I told him I could have her that day and be happy. He then decided to strip them this appointment and, OUCH. He said he wanted to make sure that baby came tonight. He was just helping me along. Great Doctor :)
So I left and he said, "see you tonight!" And I was sure hoping to make it in the hospital that night. I wanted to go walk around somewhere with ac so I went and walked around the mall. I wasnt feeling anything-and at this point still didnt know what a contraction actually felt like. The one thing I did feel was a lot of back pain. Well I was updating Phil on everything-who was updating everyone at work. They told him that there wasnt anything else left to do and to go home, so he got to come home and hour early.
I had tried a teeny bit of castro oil the week before and obviously it wasnt enough, and I swore I was never going to taste that nasty stuff again. Well I did.
This time I mixed it in a milkshake. Phil bought the shake on his way home from work and I bought the oil on my way home from the mall. This time we dumped almost the whole bottle in the shake (we were really ready for her). I think it was about 4 ish when I drank it. Then we walked around the neighborhood and he wouldnt let me sit down haha. Well about 7 30 ish I started to feel some cramping feelings and they got a little bit stronger so I silently timed them and they were about 5 mins apart. I didnt want to tell phil yet cuz they were not painful and I didnt want to go to the hospital and be sent home. Well about 8 I decided to tell him and let him time them. They were now about 2-3 min apart and my lower back was hurting more. He kept telling me to call my doctor (my doctor has you call him first and lets the hospital know your coming). I really didnt want to call because I seriously was not in a ton of pain, but since the contractions were so close I decided to call. He gave us the go to head down to the hospital so we did. The whole ride there I just kept thinking they were going to send us home. I felt embarrased going in so soon.
Once we got there at about 9 ish, they took me in the room and checked me...uh little did I know I was already at an 8. Yeah no joke. Trust me I was shocked, and so was the nurse-she could not believe I was still talking and joking about it. So they got me hooked up to the IV and sent me to the room I would deliver in. So crazy. Once in my room they started me on antibiotics for the Strep B. Now if I didnt have strep B this whole process could of been a lot easier and shorter. The antibiotic takes 4 hours to go through the body and they wanted me to get 2 doses of it. Since they wanted a longer labor, the doc wouldnt break my water because that would speed things up. So there I sat. No meds (yet) and hanging out waiting to get to a 10. My contractions did start to get more uncomfortable and painful and I was not excited that I would have to be feeling them for at least another 4 hours. seriously?! My nurse was awesome though. She let my doc know that I didnt have an epidural yet and the contractions were starting to pick up-so my wonderful doctor came and broke my water for me. He left saying, "Ok your contractions are going to pick up." And, they did. Wow. That was, fun? I definitly knew what a contraction felt like at that point haha. But I was so exausted already from being there in pain for a while and was only at a 9. It seemed that I just couldnt get to that 10. Plus at this point I couldnt relax, and that didnt help. My husband, mom, and nurse all did a great job at helping me through that pain but I was done. And I am pretty sure I said that over and over too haha. After a while my nurse said the Anesthesiologist was right outside if I wanted an epidural. I really thought I wouldnt had to of gotten one but after making me wait cuz the antibiotics I was so tired. I said yep and got one within 5 mins. Yes that man was my new BFF. I was not against getting one and am in no way embarrassed I did. I am so glad-and never plan to experience that pain again-if possible. Its the way to go haha. I honestly felt like I could see again haha weird but thats what it felt like. Im pretty sure Phil was glad at that point that I got one too-not for him to see me in lots of pain.
About 45min to and hour later I was ready to push and I *think I pushed a little over an hour-haha I dont remember. I just remember sleeping after each push. And little miss Kinzi May joined our family at 3:09 am. Amazing. When they put her on my stomach she just kept making a pouty face, it was so dang cute. So about 6 hours of labor for my first child-not too bad at all.

Oh wait there is more haha...
I should have phil write about this part cuz I honestly dont remember a lot of it. But after she came out there were some complications with the placenta. It uh wouldnt come out. Phil said the doctor was pulling with all his strength and nothing. All I remember is him pushing on my stomach really hard and a lot. Apparently it grew with some muscle tissue. Phil and my mom both said they were worried. I guess phil heard them say if they couldnt get it out they were going to have to send me to the OR. The nurses also said if I hadnt of gotten the epidural they were going to have to give me one because of all the pulling he was doing. So another blessing in disguise that I got it. He ended up getting it out, but in lots of pieces. And it took a while. But all is well and I honestly had no idea what was going on anyways I just loved having a little girl at that point.
We then got to bring her home on Sunday June 20th-Fathers Day AND our anniversary! Great fathers day gift and perfect way to celebrate 2 years together.
So thats her story. Its fun being a little family now and learning all that I am. She sometimes gets her nights and days mixed up so hopefully she figures them out soon. But the nights are hit and miss. Sometimes she will go 5 strait hours and others 2. But it all comes with being a new mommy and a learning process. Phil is the best dad ever. Along with best husband. He helps so much and makes everything easier. We just love him.
And how could I post all of this without pictures right. Thats all people look at anyways on blogs... here ya go. She is just a cutie.

Sneak Peak

Being done with work has been fantastic and given me lots of time to relax, sleep in, and get everything ready for Kinzi. I will post pictures when the room is officially done! Only a few things here and there that need to be done. The room sure has turned out so dang cute! Now that I am full term, I hope Kinzi knows she is more than welcome anytime she would like to come-although I have a feeling I still have a couple of weeks. I am due the 26th and my Doctor is leaving the 30th for a week so he said I need to have her before my due date so he does not have to worry about me while he is gone. At least he and I are both on the same page. Ahh, it became very real when the doc checked me at 35 1/2 weeks and I was dialated to a 1 and 75% effaced. But I know I can also walk around at a 1 for a month and nothing happen, but it still just made me realize how well, REAL this is. Carazy!

Here is the only sneak peak Ill give of her room. This might be my favorite thing in her room! I bought it at a thrift store for $8! It was a ugly gold color with some crystals missing. I painted it blue and my sister and I added some crystals-including the blue ones. I love the way it turned out.

And all her clothes and blankets are washed and put away. I think she has enough clothes...what do you think?
